QuestionsQuestions about working with an SEO consultant.
Am I hiring a person or an agency?+
Both, in a sense, and it matters less than who does the work. We are founder-led, and the SEO lane sits with our co-founder Harvie Williams. The audit, the strategy and the implementation on your site are done by the same person, not passed down a chain. You are not handed to an account manager and the work is not offshored. You get proper tooling and process with a named person accountable for the result.
How is an SEO consultant different from an agency for my business?+
The difference is who touches your site and how many layers sit between you and them. With a consultant, the person who diagnosed the problem is the person who fixes it, so context does not get lost in handovers and decisions happen faster. The trade off is capacity, which is why we take on fewer clients and go deeper on each. If you need very high output across many markets at once, a larger team may suit you better, and we will tell you that rather than take the work.
What is the difference between an SEO consultant, an SEO specialist and an SEO expert?+
Mostly the job title someone chose. All three usually mean one person doing your SEO rather than an agency team, so the useful question is what that person actually does on your site. Here it is Harvie Williams: the audit, the technical fixes, the content briefs and the reporting, done by him rather than handed to someone else.
How long before I see results from SEO?+
That depends on the state of your site and how competitive your market is, and anyone giving you a fixed date is guessing. Technical fixes can show up within weeks because they change how Google reads your site. Content and authority work compounds over months. What you get instead of a promised date is a clear read on what moved, why it moved and what happens next, so you are never waiting in the dark to find out whether it is working.
Do I need to be in Perth for this to work?+
No. We are based in Perth, Western Australia, but search work does not require us to be in the same room, so we can work with you wherever you are. Being local does help if you are chasing map pack and suburb-level visibility, because we understand the market you are competing in. If you are nearby and would rather meet in person, we can.
What do I need to provide to get started?+
Access, and honesty about the business. We need Google Search Console and GA4 so we can work from real data rather than guesses, plus access to the website so changes can actually be made. Beyond that we want to know which services or products carry your margin, what you genuinely want more of, and anything that has been tried before. The more you tell us, the less time we spend chasing traffic that was never going to make you money.
Can bad SEO work from a previous provider be fixed?+
Often, yes. The common cases are thin or spun content, a migration that lost rankings, a rebuild shipped without redirects, and multiple pages competing for the same term. We start by working out what actually broke rather than assuming, because the fix for a manual action is nothing like the fix for a botched migration. If the cost of the clean-up outweighs rebuilding a section of the site properly, we will say so.
Who implements the changes on my site?+
Where the work touches the site itself, we can implement it directly. We build websites as well, which means a technical recommendation does not sit in a document waiting on a developer who does not understand why it matters. More on that on our
web design and development page.
