SEO Pricing

Here is
what we
charge

We custom quote every engagement. $1,000 including GST every 4 weeks is the lowest we go, and it is built to make you money rather than to look cheap.
Most Perth SEO agencies will not tell you what they charge, so the price only appears once you are on the phone. We would rather you worked out whether we are in your range before you spend twenty minutes on a call with us. If our quote lands above your budget, say so: we will still work at $1,000, with the scope dialled down to match and every cut named. Even at the lowest number the work is built to earn its money back, or we would rather not start.

What our own work has produced

Every figure here is organic search only. Fridgy Australia's average non-brand position moved from 22.0 to 10.7 year on year across 402,545 impressions.

What changes
the price

Six things move a quote, in roughly the order they matter.
They are:
+
Local versus national. Our lowest number is set for a local Perth or WA service business targeting local terms. A national site is a different competitive sport and is quoted individually. This is the single biggest driver.
+
How many money pages you have. Four services and one location is a much smaller build than fourteen services across three states. Pages are the unit of work in SEO.
+
How competitive your terms are. We will show you the difficulty scores for your actual terms before you commit to anything.
+
The state of the site you already have. If it is technically sound the retainer goes straight into content and authority. If it needs remediation first, the first cycle or two goes there instead.
+
How much content you want per cycle. At the lower end there is no new content in the cycle at all and the work is technical, structural and on-page. Add a content allowance and the price moves with it.
+
Whether you also need the website built. We run a bundle: a discounted website rebuild in exchange for committing to a retainer, the website standalone at full price, or the retainer on its own. Harvie builds the sites, so it is the same person either way.
Sometimes the honest answer is that the site needs rebuilding before SEO is worth spending on, and we will say so rather than take the retainer.

Our own software,
included in the price

We build and pay for our own software, and you get it as part of the retainer at no extra charge.
What that gets you:
reporting built on your own Search Console, GA4 and business data, not a reseller's dashboard with our logo on it
server-side tracking built in, so the enquiries and revenue that come from our work are attributed to it rather than estimated
rank and visibility tracking on your keyword set that runs continuously, rather than being checked the week a report is due
a performance report within five business days of the end of every cycle, written by a person off the back of that data
the tooling is ours, so when your account needs it to do something new we build it rather than wait on a vendor's roadmap
included in every retainer at every price, and you get every improvement we make to it at no extra cost
Want to know what your site would actually need before you commit to a cycle?
founder-led
No account manager.
No sales team.
Our founder and team, doing the work.

What you are actually
paying for.

There is no account manager relaying your question to a strategist who relays it to a contractor. Our founder, Harvie Williams, runs everything organic: technical SEO, content, structured data, local search and the website itself. Kobi Martin runs paid media. We do not have a sales team, which is part of why the number on this page is what it is.

You are also paying for the reporting to be honest. Every figure in a report comes from Google Search Console, GA4 or your own systems, not an estimate, and it is framed against whether your business got more work rather than whether a vanity metric moved. Impressions and keyword counts are context. Enquiries, bookings and revenue are the point. We are a Perth business working with Perth businesses. We deliberately do not mark our reviews up as star ratings in our own page code, because Google's guidelines say self-serving reviews on your own site should not appear as rich results.

What the work actually covers

There is no product ladder here. There is one team, one hourly reality, and a scope written to your budget. What changes as the budget rises is pace and reach, not who does it or how well. Depending on your scope, the work can include:
technical audit fixes actually implemented, not just listed: metadata, H1s, sitemap, locale and indexation problems
your core service pages built out and optimised properly, one at a time, at a defined pace per cycle
structured data built and validated: LocalBusiness, Person, Service and FAQPage schema
Google Business Profile claimed, cleaned up and optimised, with local Perth and Western Australia targeting
Search Console and analytics set up so reporting is grounded in real data, plus rank tracking on a defined keyword set
a plain-English report every cycle that a human wrote
a content engine: researched, written and published articles built as topic clusters that feed your service pages rather than floating on a blog nobody reads
genuine location pages where they are warranted, deliberate internal link architecture, and content refreshes on decayed pages
off-page authority work and digital PR, meaning earned links from real publications rather than a bought package
AI and answer engine optimisation, review generation, conversion rate work on your landing pages and forms, and ongoing rank defence

Who we are not for

Publishing prices only helps if we are also honest about fit. Five kinds of business should not hire us:
01
if your budget is under $1,000 per cycle. Below that there is not enough time in a cycle to do technical work, build a page and report on it truthfully. Take the free SEO audit instead and action the findings yourself
02
if you want a guarantee of page one. We scope the work to your budget, not to the budget that result would actually take, and no honest agency promises a ranking at any budget. Anyone guaranteeing page one is either not telling you what it costs or not telling you the truth
03
if you want results this month. SEO is cumulative. If you need the phone ringing in three weeks, that is a paid search problem, not an organic one
04
if you want your ads run inside the SEO retainer. Paid media is a separate engagement with separate economics, and bundling it in makes the reporting dishonest
05
if you want a big agency team on the account. We keep client numbers deliberately low, you talk directly to the person doing your work, and when we are full we will tell you we are full
CLIENT RESULTS

What the spend actually bought

the short answer

What SEO costs, answered directly

Below are the questions people actually type when they are pricing SEO, answered with our real numbers rather than a range designed to get you on a call.

australian prices

How much does SEO cost in Australia?

There is no single honest answer, and any site that gives you one number has usually made it up. What we can give you is ours, and how the number above it is arrived at.

Ours is $1,000 including GST per 4-week cycle at the floor, quoted to scope above that. What sits above the floor is not a tier name or a bigger logo on the invoice. It is more hours.

There is no useful average
An average blends a single service page in one suburb with a national, multi-location programme, and the midpoint it produces describes nobody. The useful question is what your specific site, in your specific market, needs done before search sends you work, and what that volume of work costs from the person actually doing it.
What drives it
At the $1,000 floor
What takes it above
How many pages need building
A handful of services, one location
More pages to build, at a faster pace
How competitive your market is
Local Perth and Western Australian terms
A harder market, or national and multi-location targeting
How much content each cycle
Core service pages built out at an agreed pace
New content each cycle on top of the page build
The state of the site you start with
A site that is broadly sound
A bigger and messier site to fix first
Every engagement is quoted to scope rather than sold as a tier, and the floor exists for businesses that genuinely cannot go higher.
small business

How much does SEO cost for a small business?

If you are asking this question, you are almost certainly a small business, so here is the direct answer. Our floor of $1,000 including GST per 4-week cycle is set for exactly that situation: a Perth or Western Australian business, a handful of services, one location, and local terms to win.

The honest caveat is that small does not mean simple. The size of your site moves the price more than the size of your company does.

A cycle at the floor
What it covers
What it will not stretch to
Technical fixes on your site
Real technical fixes implemented rather than listed
A content engine
Your core service pages
Built out properly at an agreed pace
National targeting
Foundations and local presence
Structured data, and your Google Business Profile cleaned up
Authority campaigns
Tracking and reporting
Tracking set up so the reporting is grounded, and a plain English report a human wrote
Anything that takes materially more hours
A cycle at that level is scoped with you before anything starts, and we would rather scope down than overpromise.
billing cycle

What SEO costs per month, compared with our 4-week cycle

If you are lining up quotes, this is the thing that catches people out.

We do not quote per month. We bill every 4 weeks. So when you put our price beside someone else's, check the unit before you compare the number. A per cycle price and a per calendar month price are not the same measurement, and a headline figure that quietly means something else is a bad way to start a working relationship.

$1,000 inc GST per 4-week cycle
Our floor, billed on a rolling cycle that starts on your start date rather than on the first of the calendar month. Standalone retainers are rolling with no lock-in. GST is already in the figure, and reporting sits inside the fee rather than beside it.
A fixed term only appears when a website build or rebuild is part of the deal, or when a discount has been traded for one. Scope for the cycle is agreed before the cycle starts, and there is no separate tax line waiting at the end.
cheap seo

What cheap SEO actually costs you

Below roughly $1,000 a cycle we cannot deliver the work, and it is worth understanding why rather than taking our word for it.

If your budget is genuinely under our floor right now, we would rather you kept it. Take the free audit, action the findings yourself, and come back when the spend can buy actual delivery.

SEO is hours
A cycle that includes diagnosing a technical problem, fixing it, building or rebuilding a page, and reporting on the result honestly consumes a real amount of somebody's week. Price that below the floor and something has to give. Usually what gives is the work, and what survives is the report, because a report is the cheapest thing to produce and the easiest thing to send.
So the real risk in a fee that cannot buy the hours is rarely the fee itself. It is a year spent paying for movement that never arrives, plus whatever the technical damage costs to unpick afterwards.
seo versus ads

How SEO costs compare with paid ads

If you are pricing SEO you are usually weighing up ads at the same time, so here is the difference in cost structure rather than the usual argument about which is better.

How the cost works
SEO
Paid search
What you pay for
Work. There is no media spend and nothing is bid on.
Work and media: a management fee, plus a budget that Google spends.
What it costs per cycle
Flat and predictable
A practical minimum applies, below which the campaign cannot gather enough data to optimise
What happens to the work
It compounds. A page built early in the engagement is still sitting on your site months later, and you are not paying a second time for the same visit.
The traffic is immediate, and it stops the day the budget stops.
The cost profiles are opposite, which is why they suit different situations. Paid is the answer when you need traffic immediately, and we run it as a separate engagement. If you are building an asset that keeps returning, that is organic. Plenty of businesses run both, and we price them separately so neither subsidises the other's reporting.
what is included

working out value

How to work out what SEO is worth paying for your business

Cost only means something next to return, and you can do this sum yourself before you speak to anyone.

Work the sum yourself
What you put in
What it gives you
Start with one customer
The average value of one customer to you, including repeat work
What a customer is worth to you
Multiply by what you close
The share of enquiries you actually close
What a single genuine enquiry from search is worth
Set it against the retainer
$1,000 including GST per cycle, across however long you are prepared to give the work
How many extra customers search has to produce before the retainer has paid for itself
Including when it says no
We will run that same sum with you honestly. Turning down a retainer costs us one client. Taking one we cannot make pay costs us a reference.
For a trades or services business with a healthy job value it tends to be a small number. Where the average sale is small and nobody buys twice, it is a large one, and organic search may not be the right first spend at all.
Questions

What Perth businesses ask about SEO prices.

How much does SEO cost in Perth?+
We quote to scope, because the honest price depends on your site, your market and how much ground there is to make up. $1,000 including GST every 4 weeks is the lowest we go, and it exists for businesses that genuinely cannot go higher. If our quote lands above your budget we will still work at $1,000, with the scope dialled down to match. Across the wider Perth market you will see quotes from a few hundred dollars a month up into five figures, and in our experience the very low end is usually work resold offshore rather than someone doing it themselves.
Why do you publish your prices?+
Because hiding the number wastes your time and ours. The Perth agency sites we have looked at, including the market leader, put no price on the page at all and ask you to book a call to find one out. Publishing the floor means you can rule us in or out in about ten seconds. If $1,000 every 4 weeks is beyond you right now, you have saved yourself the call and we have saved ourselves the pitch.
Do your prices include GST?+
Yes. Every price on this page includes GST, so the number you see is the number you pay. Retainers are billed every 4 weeks, with the invoice issued at the start of the period it covers on 14-day terms.
What happens if I want to stop?+
A standalone SEO retainer is rolling, with no lock-in. You give 30 days written notice, and an email counts. Services are payable in full through the notice period. There is also a cancellation fee equal to one further billing cycle's retainer, invoiced at the end of the notice period, and part-cycles are not refunded. We would rather you read that here than find it in our services agreement after signing.
How long before SEO actually works?+
We will not put a date on a ranking, because nobody honestly can. What we can show you is what our own work has produced: Fridgy Australia at 536% organic session growth and 285% organic purchase growth year on year, ETA Training at a 157% increase in organic key events, and Greenerscapes at 282% organic click growth. Technical and metadata fixes can move within weeks. Content and authority take considerably longer. You get a report within five business days of the end of every cycle either way, so you are never guessing.
What is the cheapest amount worth spending on SEO?+
Ours is $1,000 including GST every 4 weeks. That is the lowest we go, and it is there for businesses that genuinely cannot go higher rather than as an opening position. At that number the scope is tight and we tell you exactly what is in it, but it is still built to earn its money back. Below roughly $1,000 there is not enough time to do technical work, build a page and report on it honestly, so what gets sold instead is a report and very little else. If that is where you are, take the free audit and action the findings yourself.
Do you do one-off SEO projects, or is it retainer only?+
Both, but they are priced separately. A website launch and SEO migration, meaning redirect mapping, go-live indexation and technical search setup, is a one-off quote and is never folded into a retainer cycle. So is a website build. Ongoing SEO is a retainer because the work is cumulative and a single cycle of it does very little.
What is not included in an SEO retainer?+
Paid advertising and conversion tracking setup, which sit with Kobi as a separate engagement. Web design or development changes to the site itself, unless separately quoted. Website launch and migration support. Content beyond your scope's stated allowance. Large-scale link building and digital PR. Photography, video and copywriting outside SEO content. Anything outside your scope is quoted and agreed in writing before it starts.
Can I start at $1,000 and increase later?+
Yes. What a larger budget buys is pace and reach: more pages built per cycle, broader targeting, and weight behind authority work. The people doing the work are the same either way. If your budget sits between two numbers we have discussed, we scope to your number rather than pushing you up.
Do you guarantee first page rankings?+
No, and you should be wary of anyone in Perth who does. Nobody controls Google's ranking systems, so a guarantee is either meaningless or it is quietly attached to terms so uncompetitive that ranking for them changes nothing. What we do commit to is a defined scope of work each cycle, a report within five business days of the cycle ending, and being told the truth when something is not working.
How much should I expect to pay for SEO in Australia?+
Our retainers start at $1,000 including GST per 4-week cycle. That is our floor for a Perth or Western Australian business targeting local terms, and larger sites or more competitive markets are quoted to scope. Elsewhere you will see a very wide spread of quotes, which is why the number on its own tells you almost nothing. What it should always come back to is hours: how many pages get built or rebuilt, how much technical work is genuinely done, and who is doing it. Ask that of every quote you collect, including ours.
How much does SEO cost for a small business like mine?+
Our floor is built for you: $1,000 including GST per cycle, scoped with you before anything starts, and normally built around technical fixes actually implemented, your core service pages built out properly at an agreed pace, structured data, your Google Business Profile, tracking, and a plain English report. What moves your price above the floor is the size of the job rather than the size of your business, so how many service pages you need, how competitive your terms are, the state of the site you already have, and whether you want new content each cycle.
Why is my other SEO quote so much cheaper?+
Usually because it buys fewer hours than you think. SEO is time spent diagnosing, fixing, building and reporting, so when the fee drops below what that time costs, the delivery is what gets cut and the report is what survives. Ask any cheaper quote a simple question: which specific pages will be built or rebuilt this cycle, and who is doing the work. If the answer is vague, you are buying a report. If your budget is under our floor, we would rather you took the free audit and actioned it yourself.
How much does SEO cost per month if billing runs every 4 weeks?+
We do not quote per month, and the difference matters when you compare us with someone who does. Our price is $1,000 including GST per 4-week cycle, billed on a rolling cycle that starts on your start date rather than on the first of the calendar month. A per cycle price and a per calendar month price are not the same unit, so check which one a quote is written in before you put the two numbers side by side. Standalone retainers are rolling with no lock-in, and GST is already in the figure.
Do I have to pay for SEO tools or reporting on top of the retainer?+
No. Our own SEO software, the crawling and rank tracking that runs on it, Search Console and analytics setup, schema work and your reporting all sit inside the cycle fee. You will not be charged a tools surcharge or asked to buy a seat in a third party dashboard to see your own data. What sits outside the retainer is paid advertising and conversion tracking, web design and development, website launch and migration work, content beyond your agreed allowance, and large scale link building or digital PR. Each of those is quoted and agreed in writing before it starts.
How do I know whether SEO will cost me more than it returns?+
Do the sum before you commit. Take what one customer is worth to you including repeat work, multiply it by the share of enquiries you close, and set that against $1,000 including GST per cycle at our floor over the period you are prepared to give the work. That tells you how many extra customers search has to produce before the retainer has paid for itself. We will run the same numbers with you and tell you if the answer is no, because a retainer that cannot pay for itself costs us a reference we would rather keep. If you want the evidence first, take the free audit and read what is actually wrong with your site.
