The Renovation Centre: 2,100 product pages out, one showroom in

The Renovation Centre is a bathroom, kitchen and laundry showroom in Osborne Park. Their old WordPress site carried about 2,100 product pages for a business whose real goal is a showroom visit. We rebuilt it in Webflow around the showroom, the brands and the quote request, and moved every old address across with it.

The situation

The old site was an online store on WordPress and WooCommerce: 2,142 pages, about 2,100 of them individual products. That is the wrong shape for this business. Ranges in a renovation showroom change constantly, so a product list is out of date almost as soon as it is loaded. And nobody chooses a vanity or a bath from a thumbnail. They come in, open the drawers and compare finishes side by side.
So the job was not a prettier store. It was a different kind of site: image led, built for the phone first because that is where most of their customers are, and pointed at two actions, visiting the showroom or asking for a quote.
It also had to grow cheaply. The showroom is still adding supplier brands, so adding one could not mean building a page by hand each time.

What we built

A 26 page Webflow site with a brand layer on top, each part replacing something the old store did badly.
Part of the site
The job it does
Collection pages
One image led page per range, such as vanities, baths, tapware and tiles, in place of thousands of product listings.
Brands
Run from the content system, so a new supplier is added once and appears in the brand grid with its own page.
Gallery
The showroom itself: a slideshow of the real displays and a 20 second walkthrough video.
Contact and quote
A quote request page, plus enquiry forms in tabs so each type of enquiry reaches the right inbox.
Tracking
Calls, emails, directions and form enquiries recorded from the first day the site was live.
Then the move. A site with 2,100 addresses that people and Google already know cannot simply be switched off. Each old product address now forwards to the collection page it belonged to, so an old link to a particular basin lands on basins, not on an error page. On launch day we checked all 2,143 old addresses and every one reached a live page.
The pictures were rebuilt too. The 65 images brought across were converted and resized, taking them from 21.4 MB to 3.4 MB, and 124 images were set up as real images with a written description, so they load at the right size on a phone and mean something to a screen reader and to Google.

A showroom does not need a catalogue online. It needs a reason to visit and an easy way to ask.

Source and method. Our build log, launch day checks and Google Analytics 4 for therenocentreop.au. Server response is a single timing we took of the old site on launch morning and of the new site once it was fully on Webflow. It is not a page speed score and we have not published one. Search visits are Australia only, 10/08/2026 to 06/09/2026 against 07/09/2026 to 04/10/2026.

About the search numbers

A rebuild that removes 2,100 pages is exactly the kind of project that can cost a business its search traffic. The first test of this one was that it did not. Visits from search were level across the move, 297 in the four weeks before and 295 in the four weeks after.
Holding traffic is not the same as growing it, and we are not going to dress one up as the other. Growth is the job of the search work, which started the day the site went live. Five weeks is too short to judge it, and the new pages have no year earlier figure to be compared with.
When there is a fair before and after, it will go on this page with the terms that went backwards shown next to the ones that went forwards.

What made it work

Two decisions did most of it. The first was agreeing early what the site was for. Once the goal was a showroom visit and not an online order, dropping the catalogue stopped being a risk and became the point.
The second was treating the move as part of the design, not a job for launch night. Where each of the old addresses would go was worked out and agreed before the new site went live, which is why launch day was a check and not a scramble.
Adding a supplier brand is now one entry in the content system, not a new page built by hand.
